Kajal Odedra

Kajal is an author, organizer and communications strategist.

 
 

Kajal has supported some of the biggest people-powered campaigns in the UK and around the world - from Laura Coryton’s campaign to end the tampon tax to Richard Ratcliffe’s fight to free his wife Nazanin from prison in Iran. Previous to Change.org she campaigned for some of the UK’s most prominent NGOs including the country's largest youth led organization.

Her writing has appeared in The Guardian, Stylist, Grazia, The Independent and New Statesman. She has a Masters in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths University where she was shortlisted for the Pat Kavanagh Award. She is the author of DO SOMETHING; ACTIVISM FOR EVERYONE (Hodder and Stoughton, 2019) and HAIR/ POWER: ESSAYS ON CONTROL AND FREEDOM (Ink 404, 2023). She is currently working on her debut novel.
